Technology Transfer
Research at the FMP is oriented along the guidelines of the Leibniz Association: we pursue a mission of scientific excellence and social relevance. As an institute primarily funded by the federal and state government, our work ultimately should be utilised for the benefit of the public.
At the FMP, the best way to achieve this goal is through the identification and utilisation of potential targets for pharmaceutical intervention, aiming eventually at the development of novel therapeutic concepts. This includes the transfer of knowledge and technologies to industry.
The FMP has set up an agreement with Ascenion, a 100 % subsidiary of the Life-Science-Stiftung for the promotion of Science and Research, to secure and market commercially attractive research results. The implementation of the required structures is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) until March 2012.
